Which token should I use?

Use the Page Access Token generated for the selected Facebook Page by the same Meta app you are configuring. A User Access Token represents a person and does not substitute for a Page token in Page subscription checks.

Required Meta permissions

Before verifying the Page subscription, confirm Meta granted pages_messaging, pages_manage_metadata, pages_show_list and pages_read_engagement for this setup.

How to grant them

  1. 1

Open Graph API Explorer and select the same Meta App used in Mr. AI.

  2. 2

Open User or Page and choose the intended Page. If Meta first requires approval using your user account, approve access, then return and select the Page. Mr. AI needs the Page Access Token, not a User token.

  3. 3

Open Permissions, click Add a Permission and add the four permissions above, especially pages_manage_metadata.

  4. 4

Click Generate Access Token and approve access to the intended Page in Meta. A permission name appearing in the list alone is not proof it was granted.

  5. 5

Return to Mr. AI and click Check current subscription in step 5. For a first connection, save the Page token and matching credentials in step 3 first.

In the image: 1 — User or Page; 2 — Permissions, then Add a Permission; 3 — Generate Access Token. Select the same app and intended Page.

You normally do not need to run /subscribed_apps requests manually in Graph API Explorer. Mr. AI checks and repairs the Page subscription. Choose Check current subscription, then Enable required events only if required fields are missing.

If access is still denied

After approving permissions, generate a fresh Page Access Token with the required permissions, update the Page token saved in Mr. AI step 3, then retry the check. Previously generated tokens are not guaranteed to acquire newly granted access automatically.

After saving, continue to Webhook and Page event verification. Never share Page Access Tokens or App Secrets in screenshots or support messages.

Open Graph API Explorer

Save the Page credentials

  1. 1

Open your app in Meta for Developers and its Messenger API setup. Select or add the intended Page using an account with the required Page management tasks.

  2. 2

Make sure Meta grants these Page permissions for this setup:

  3. 3

Generate the token for the selected Page. Copy its Page ID from the Page/API setup; do not copy the App ID into the Page ID field.

  4. 4

In Mr. AI step 3 enter App ID, App Secret, Facebook Page ID and Page Access Token, then choose Save credentials securely.

  5. 5

Expect a saved notice and continue to Webhook. Password-style fields clear after saving and show a saved placeholder. This is not yet a full connection test.

Credential recovery

My Page is not listed.

Check the signed-in account, Page management tasks, app roles and business asset access in Meta. Do not choose a different company Page to bypass missing access.

The token expired or says OAuth 190.

Check that you selected a Page token for the correct Page and app. Generate a fresh Page token if needed, save it and check again. If the error continues, contact support with the error code and setup step, without sharing the token.

Can I keep the saved token?

Leave the secret input blank to retain it for the same Page/app. Changing the Page requires its new Page token; changing the app requires its App Secret.

Create and publish a Privacy Policy for Meta

Configure Messenger webhooks and all four required fields

Check the result

Check Page and app identity in the verification result. Resolve missing permissions and check again without sharing the secret token.
