# Configure the human takeover pause
## What happens to AI after the team replies manually?

When Human Takeover is enabled, AI replies pause for that conversation after team intervention. Temporary mode uses a duration from 1 to 168 hours; permanent mode stays manual until a team member explicitly resumes AI.

- Use temporary mode for routine cases.
- Use permanent mode for sensitive or complex work.
