# Build & Manage with AI: start here
## What is Build & Manage with AI?

It is the Mr.AI workspace for improving your AI Employee with AI. You can connect a compatible assistant for a live connected workflow, or use the permanent manual workflow without connecting any assistant.

- The connected workflow is the preferred path when it is available and useful.
- The manual export and upload workflow remains a supported path.
- Review and production authority remain inside Mr.AI.

## Choose the right starting point

- On supported Knowledge, Behavior, Catalog, and other editing pages, use Improve with AI to work with the current page context without leaving it.
- Use Build & Manage with AI when you want the full Hub, connection status, proposals, or a broader AI improvement task.
- Use AI Settings when you want to connect, reconnect, inspect, refresh, or disconnect an AI assistant connection.

## Two supported workflows

- Connected assistant: authorize a compatible assistant, work through the capabilities Mr.AI exposes, then review proposed changes before anything becomes live.
- Manual AI workflow: export a supported editing package, work with your preferred AI, upload the result, then review and apply through the same protected Mr.AI editing journey.

> **Workspace authority**
> A connected assistant does not become the owner of your workspace and does not receive universal write access. Mr.AI controls the available areas and permissions.

## What to read next

- Connect an AI assistant: setup for ChatGPT or Claude, server-confirmed state, and permissions.
- Use AI without connecting: the permanent manual workflow from export to upload and review.
- Review, Test, Apply, and Rollback: how proposed changes move safely toward production.
- Connection management and troubleshooting: reconnect, disconnect, common failures, and credential safety.
