# Add detailed knowledge and files
Documents are useful for detailed information that does not fit naturally into a product or offer record.

## What to do

1. Upload a supported PDF, DOCX, or TXT file.
2. Preview and edit the extracted knowledge so only accurate content remains.
3. Approve indexing, then test questions that depend on the document.

> Use Update Index after editing an indexed document so old knowledge is replaced.
