# Create and prepare your Meta Messenger app
## Where do I create the app?

Use Meta for Developers with the Facebook account authorized to manage your business Page. Menu labels and available use cases vary by app type and Meta updates. Follow the current Messenger/business messaging setup offered by Meta rather than selecting an unrelated product.

1. Open developers.facebook.com/apps and sign in. Complete the developer registration if Meta requests it.
2. In My Apps choose the intended company app. If none exists, choose Create App and follow the business/Messenger use-case prompts shown for your account.
3. Open the Messenger product or use case and select the Page you manage. If unavailable, confirm app roles, Page access and business portfolio assignments in Meta.
4. Open the app settings and locate App ID and App Secret. Reveal the secret only when ready to save it in Mr. AI step 3.
5. Review permissions and the requirements for public customer messaging before switching the app to its public/live configuration.

> Development testing can be restricted to people with app roles. Public customer access may require App Review, advanced access or business verification. A visible permission name or a successful developer test is not proof of approval.

## Cannot find Messenger or the Page?

### Why is the menu different?

Meta changes navigation and app-type setup. Use its current Messenger setup and official documentation; do not create a second unrelated app just to match a screenshot.

### Do I need Meta Handover Protocol?

No. messaging_handovers and standby are not required for the existing Mr. AI manual takeover behavior.
